Adobe Analytics | Bi-directional

SessionCam offers a two way integration with Adobe Analytics.

When both directions are setup you will be able to:

Send SessionCam session replay link to Adobe

You can import SessionIDs from SessionCam into your Omniture dashboard and view sessions based on existing reports.

Setting up

There are three steps to Importing SessionIDs into Omniture and viewing playback:

  1. Set up to receive the SessionID

Product Admin Users and the SessionCam Customer Success Team can activate this integration directly from the console.

In order to set this up:

  • Log into SessionCam
  • Expand the "Manage" section in the navigation menu
  • Click "Account Settings"
  • Click the tab titled "Integrations"

When enabling the integration with Adobe Omniture/Adobe Analytics you need to set up an eVar in Adobe Omniture. This will be something like "eVar67".You then need to enter this in the settings area of the Integration.

It’s also possible to use your Omniture page naming convention from this integration section.

Viewing in Adobe

SessionIDs are imported as an eVar, which is available to be added to your existing reports

You should be able to see all available SessionIDs once you have added the appropriate eVar to your reports.

The SessionID will look something like this:

f3f34551-7ba0-4f9a-a8ac-8683ea74a341,634821081340000000

If you want to view a specific session, log into the SessionCam console and paste the playback URL into your browser (https://console.sessioncam.com/Console/Recordings/PlaybackSession?sessionId=xxxx).

Replace "xxxx" in the URL with the SessionID you wish to play.

Alternatively, you can download our Chrome plugin to quickly launch a session replay directly from the Omniture dashboard.

Send Adobe segments to SessionCam

You can import your Adobe Analytics segments into SessionCam and filter sessions based upon those segments.

Setting up

In order to achieve this, you need to set SessionCam to access your Analytics instance by mimicking a user account; if you have 'Product Admin' permissions, you can set the integration up yourself by accessing the 'Integrations' screen:

*If you do not have access to the 'Integrations' screen, you can send the necessary details (explained below) to the SessionCam Support Team at support@sessioncam.com, who will complete the set-up on your behalf.

You will need to either enter/provide a Username, Secret Key, Report Suite Id and Company Name:

These details allow the SessionCam platform to access your Analytics instance and facilitates porting your segments across.

  • Username: Your Analytics API Username (or user who has 'Web Service' permissions)
  • Secret Key: Your Analytics 'Secret key' (which can be found under 'Account Information' in the 'Web Service' section of Analytics

These details allow the SessionCam platform to compare segment report data against the collected segments, and allows SessionCam to allocate specific sessions to specific segments.

  • Report Suite ID: Your Analytics API Report Suite (repository) ID
  • Company Name: The company name, as configured in Analytics

Viewing in SessionCam

Once you have saved and activated the integration, it will take your segments 48 hours to be present in the SessionCam platform - which you can review by clicking on the 'Manage' icon.

You can then filter sessions by your segments in the recordings tab, within the heatmaps tool and in the Funnel Insights areas of the console.

In the recordings and heatmaps tab, you simply go to the advanced filters button at the top of the area and when you click on this you will see the adobe segments tab.

If you then click the "Select an Adobe Segment" drop-down this will then give you the list of all of the Adobe segments you have to filter on.
